New York Times: Editors' Note (2/7/08)
The day after printing a strong piece on another death at Guantánamo Bay, the Times runs a correction basically saying one of the reporters—Andy Worthington—should be viewed with some suspicion because he's spoken out against the secretive military prison where the U.S. holds people without charge or trial. So an avowedly pro-surge reporter like Michael Gordon is given the run of the Times' front page and no one blinks an eye, but a "biased" reporter contributes facts to an article... well, that needs some explaining. Apparently only reporters who speak out against official racism, torture and occupations need be double-checked when reporting on related issues.
