Truthdig: United Farm Workers Strike Back at the L.A. Times (2/3/06) by Blair Golson
In seeking to address a perceived lack of "fairness and balance" in an L.A. Times "major hit-piece" on the United Farm Workers union, "it actually took two weeks and three phone calls from a U.S. congressman and a Clinton-era cabinet secretary" for UFW representatives to procure a meeting with the paper's editor. This despite the Times' "own ethics policy specifying that subjects of stories should be given every opportunity to defend themselves against allegations or criticisms."
