This week on CounterSpin, we check in on the domestic front of the Bush administration’s so-called "war on terrorism." What impact is it having on our civil rights and our right to access information? The news as you might expect is not good. Greg Nojeim of the ACLU will join us to talk about one new and ominous development: the privatization of surveillance. This involves, among other things, the government recruiting corporations to hand over the data they collect on individuals. We’ll bring you up to speed on that story.
Also on the show: We’ll also talk with Lucy Dalglish of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press about Behind the Home Front, the project that group started as a resource for journalists covering, or trying to cover, the administration’s myriad anti-terrorism initiatives.
