[...] Noam Chomsky, Time Magazine (Reader)'s Person of the Year [...]
That is sweet, although merit and morality of course aren't criteria for Time's Person of the Year.
People still read Time? That magazine lost credibility decades ago.
Noam Chomsky rocks! The person who suggested Noam should be person of the year is brilliant.
For decades, Dr. Chomsky has been providing the sort of factual analysis that progressives need.
We live in a society now that openly rewards cheating, stealing and most any unethical behavior in the pursuit of profit, success and celebrity. Bill Gates was perhaps one of the first to be so openly worshiped.
This is what is now the meaning of contemporary entrepreneurship. We have no time for the intellectual clarity that is offered by critical thinkers such as Chomsky, Vidal, Nader and a too few others who are leftover from the 60's. In our topsy-turvey politic, intellectual clarity is a threat to corporatism and cannot therefore be tolerated in the corporate run media. Hence the un-credible choices that Time has made in recent years for those they choose to honor as person of the year.
