Vietnam was a long time ago - and the criticism of that war came pretty goddamn late for all who died before it was decided that it was a "mistake", didn't it? And I can only hope that Mitchell is relating others' vomitous contention that Afghanistan is a "war without shame". Or perhaps he means it's because our rulers have no shame.
