He seems pretty goddamn disposed to doing that on his lonesome, doesn't he? In addition to never having uttered the words "poor people" during the campaign (and perhaps during his time in the Senate) to my knowledge, how many times did the term "labor unions" cross his lips ... aside from when he was seeking their votes? Chalk it up to the audacity of false hope. I just hope that whatever positive change he is forced by dire circumstances to push for (while seeking to limit it as much as he possibly can) isn't celebrated as proof of his "progressive vision". That plea will fall on deaf ears at MoveOn et al, I'm certain. Unfortunately, I don't know that Obama needs much "encouragement" from the corpress to renege on his promises.
